The Project, developed by the Milan Symphony Orchestra with the support of professors Elena Di Giovanni and Francesca Raffi (University of Macerata), was created with the aim of making the symphonic concert experience more inclusive, participatory, and open to everyone, with particular attention to people with sensory disabilities (deaf and hard of hearing, blind and visually impaired) and intellectual disabilities.
Starting from the 2025/26 Symphonic Season, a series of concerts will be offered in an “accessible” format, featuring dedicated tools for cultural mediation and audience support, developed in collaboration with experts in the field and relevant associations.

ACCESSIBILITY TOOLS AND SERVICES
For the concerts included in the Accessibility Project, the Milan Symphony Orchestra offers a range of services designed for audiences with different needs:
- Season Brochure in an accessible format.
- Accessible concert programs, available in digital format, featuring:
- Videos in LIS – Italian Sign Language
- Audio versions of the texts and audio descriptions of the images
- Easy-to-Read content
- Texts designed to facilitate understanding and orientation throughout the concert
- Listening guide through the Connect Me Too (CMT S.r.l.) App, offering audio description/headset guidance for blind and visually impaired audience members
- Experiential workshops and pre-concert preparation sessions, led by experts, to support a gradual and shared approach to the musical experience.

SUPPORT THE ORCHESTRA
NEW INSTRUMENTS, NEW SEASON, NEW ENERGY
Two years ago, our community achieved something extraordinary: raising over €55,000 in just 30 days to provide the Orchestra with a new set of timpani. Today, with the 2026/27 Season approaching, we are aiming for a new goal: to raise €30,000 to renew the Orchestra’s percussion instruments and continue ensuring the artistic excellence of our concerts.
