Auditorium of Milan
Two years ago the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano won the Special Prize as part of the 2024 Abbiati Prize, last year Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Music Director, was named Best Conductor in the 44th edition, that of 2025.
Well, the first concert at the Auditorium di Milano for the 2025/26 Symphonic Season, the second one signed by Emmanuel Tjeknavorian as Music Director, comes full circle, connects the dots. On stage, Tjeknavorian conducts Mahler's Fifth Symphony, one of the pinnacles of music poetry of all time, as Gustav von Aschenbach reminds Tadzio in Thomas Mann's "Death in Venice", whose film version unfolds precisely on the poignant notes of Mahler's Adagietto from the Fifth:
