A musical journey between Poland and Russia, where memory, longing and the search for redemption intertwine. Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 gives voice to fate with sweeping drama and heartfelt intensity. In dialogue with it are the crystalline clarity of Penderecki's Three Pieces and the passionate lyricism of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2, a work that evokes "the enchantment, the mystery and the elusive beauty of youthful love." The soloist is Rafał Blechacz, winner of the XV International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and one of today's foremost interpreters of Chopin. On the podium, the brilliant Polish conductor Dawid Runtz makes his debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano.
