Alongside the Crescendo in Musica review, since 2017 the Foundation has promoted Musica da Cameretta, a review designed for preschool children. This year, the event will be held in the Ground Hall of BASE Milano, part of a new collaboration between the Foundation and the Milanese cultural space. Here, younger audiences can experience live music in a sensorial, informal, and participatory way, accompanied on this journey of discovery by a mascot: a little animal, a hedgehog-musician with the evocative name of Gus.
Gus's Bedrooms are small imaginary spaces where music becomes play, storytelling, listening, and transformation: places where every emotion can become sound and every sound can become an encounter.
Guided by Elisabetta Garilli, musician and music education expert, and with illustrations by Valeria Petrone, children explore the inner world of Gus, the man who uses notes as a language for self-discovery, self-expression, and listening to others.
Each of the four events is an opportunity to grow, learn, spell, and invent together. Each title brings with it an adventure that opens reflections on everyday life: stories in which everyone can see themselves as children and find inspiration to continue at home in the search for new ways to interact with classical music. A concrete suggestion for continuing to listen to it, reliving history and, why not, creating new ones.
On the stage of Musica da Cameretta, an ensemble composed of some of the young and very young musicians from the Kids Symphony Orchestra (9–16 years) and the Milan Junior Symphony Orchestra (16–19 years), conducted by Maestro Pilar Bravo: two youth groups from the Foundation dedicated to training the musicians of tomorrow.
